In a world that feels increasingly fractured—where anger is common and “wellness” often feels like a luxury—what is the point of unrolling a yoga mat?
If our practice only serves as an escape from reality, it isn’t yoga; it’s avoidance. This workshop is an invitation to move beyond the “good vibes only” narrative and explore how yoga was originally designed: as a radical tool for transformation and systemic change.
Brew a pot of tea, bring your snacks and favorite journaling or integrations tools to explore practical tools and embrace real talk as we welcome in Spring.
We will investigate how the 21st-century householder can apply ancient wisdom—like Ahimsa (non-harming) and Tapas (the fire of discipline)—to the front lines of social justice. Whether you are an experienced practitioner or have never touched your toes, if you believe that healing is a political act, this space is for you. Come as you are: the tired, the angry, the hopeful, and the curious.
This interactive workshop is designed as a brave space that balances intellectual inquiry with somatic (body-based) integration. It will include meditation, movement, discourse, journaling, sacred witnessing, Yoga Nidra, and action planning for integration.
By the end of this workshop, I hope that you have:
a deeper understanding of yoga as a social justice framework,
practical somatic and rest tools for regulating the nervous system during times of social unrest,
a renewed sense of purpose and community connection.
This workshop is timed with the Vernal Equinox to help welcome in Spring with invigorated purpose.
